The Peel Chamber of Commerce & Industry agrees with the concept of free enterprise whilst recognising the role of government and appropriate legislation to properly manage and protect the interests of the supplier and consumer equally. The Chamber will expose and oppose legislation it is aware of that seems inappropriate or limiting to economic development and free enterprise. Members are free to comment on and recommend adjustments to the interim policies of the Chamber. The interim policy is designed to be of a general nature and it is envisaged that as specific items are brought forward will be used as a guide for decisions to be made. These policies may be altered from time to time as conditions may change.
Buy LocalThe policy of Buy Local is supported by the Chamber. We encourage Local, State and Federal Government bodies, residents and business people to utilise local services and products. The Chamber promotes the Buy Local philosophy, bringing the range of products and services available in Peel Region to the attention of the public and the business community via the print media, radio, trade fairs, Business After Hours, business forums, seminars, events, breakfasts and by word of mouth. Members are encouraged to display The Peel Chamber membership certificate, sticker and logo.
Visitor Centre MembershipThe Peel Chamber of Commerce & Industry fully supports the Tourism industry for the Peel Region and encourages businesses to become support members of the visitors centres throughout the Peel Region. Support membership is designed for all non-direct related businesses, community clubs and associations within the Peel Region that wish to support their local Visitor Centre and tourism Industry. Increased tourism results in work and business growth for all. |
