The Peel Chamber of Commerce & Industry is committed to encouraging business growth and opportunity in the Peel region.
We represent the concerns of member businesses and act as a voice for the industry. We have established affiliations with a range of specialty committees to effect changes that will have a positive impact on our growing membership base throughout the Peel region. |
|
The Peel Chamber recognized the need to represent its members more effectively, and as a result, developed on-the-ground Specialty Committees in response to the specific, areas of growth, events and industries within the Peel Region.
These Specialty Committees have fast become recognised as ‘one stop shops’ to establish and strengthen sustainable co-operative partnerships between business, consumers and government agencies.
Nominated representatives from these Specialty Committees regularly report to the Executive Committee to ensure the lines of communication are effective and to maximise the resources of these expansive networks throughout the region. |

The Regional Chambers of Commerce & Industry (WA) Inc. (RCCIWA) is a new peak organisation representing the regional, rural and remote commercial interests of the nine regions in Western Australia.
The RCCIWA will be a strong lobby group to ensure greater political recognition of the abilities, needs and aspirations of regional WA. Among its goals, it will:

- develop, protect and promote the general interests of trade, commerce and industry in regional WA; and
- promote and assist in the development of high standards of education and training for employment.
The RCCIWA will help ensure the ecomomic prosperity of country regions through the promotion of commercial activity, entrepreneurial skills and job creation in regional, rural and remote Western Australia. It will provide strong and effective representation for commerce and industry outside the Perth metropolitan area, and will work closely with other industry organisations. It will also work closely with all levels of government, especially the Regional Development Commissions, Small Business Development Corporation, and local Shire Councils.
The RCCIWA aims to be the voice of business in regional Western Australia.

City Center Precinct Group |
|
|
|
|
The City of Mandurah and the Peel Chamber of Commerce and Industry with support from the Peel Development Commission have been working together to support the marketing and promotion of what was initially proposed as the ‘Mandurah Entertainment Precinct’. This is one of the initiatives agreed to by the Council following a forum of Central Area business earlier in the year when concerns about traffic management changes were discussed.
It was proposed that marketing and promotion of the precinct would be achieved through the creation and implementation of a marketing plan by a Steering Group comprising of business representatives within the precinct and endorsed by the majority of its business.
The Chamber, PDC and the City agreed that their support and financial contributions to the project was subject to:
- The Marketing Plan being initiated by a majority of business within the precinct.
- Business as committing to sustaining the plan, which will be medium term and has a marketing rather than advertising focus.
- Contributions being made by other stakeholders including business.
The proposed precinct broadly embraces business development and entertainment activities within the CBD. This area is concentrated on the businesses located between Gibson and Pinjarra, Mandurah Terrace and Sutton Streets, although activities conducted to improve these businesses will support the whole of Mandurah.
The City’s Southern City Strategy outlines the need to take a consolidated approach to regional development which identifies and utilises all key stakeholders. The City Centre Precinct Committee represent a group of significant stakeholders who make a considerable contribution to the local economy.
It is critical to the ongoing development of the City Centre to have the businesses involved in its promotion and development. This Committee has become a point of reference for the City’s officers and as a result is now a united and positive group wanting to actively be involved in improving their City. |
